This one is easier said than done. It is something I will have to constantly be aware of. I don't mean to be negative, but it is just in my nature to think that way.
Instead of thinking about the negative I will attempt to think about the positive in negative situations and in my negative thinking. I think there are a few things that will help me with this task.
One thing I need to do is start the morning thinking about all the things I am thankful for in my life. That will at least give me a positive start to the day.
I need to rethink all those hurdles in my life as a challenge instead of a problem. I need to approach negative situations with optimism and a good strategy.
I think keeping company with positive people is also a good strategy, and I think for the most part I already do that. I do realize that when I do keep company with negative people it tends to really bring me down.
Finally, when all else fails, pray! You can't go wrong with asking for a little guidance and support from God. Sometimes I also just like to talk to God without asking for anything specific, but just to vent. Sometimes I can find the answer I am looking for by finding a quiet place and just praying.
