Day 31- Date Night

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous;
love does not brag and is not arrogant,
does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own,
is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
does not rejoice in unrighteousness,
but rejoices with the truth; bears all things,
believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
- 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

I believe that it's so important to constantly be working on your marriage. This is the person I chose to spend the rest of my life with. I need to make sure that we're constantly working on strengthening the bond that we have. I think sometimes it can be easy to take advantage of that significant other in your life. You see each other everyday (most of the time anyway), and you can easily get stuck in this never ending pattern and routine.

One thing that we've done in the past is have date night. It was a night spent with just the two of us. There were no errands to run, no work, no chores. It was just time spent with each other. Maybe we'd rent a movie, or go to a movie. Maybe we'd go out to dinner. It really didn't matter because it was all about spending time with each other.

Time is precious for both of us. Some days we don't even see each other. With him being a resident and in the Navy he tends to be gone quite a bit. So, date night was always an important event for us. Unfortunately we've fallen off track with our date night, but tonight I thought I'd start up that tradition again.
