Day 100- Be Thankful For What I Have

It's Thanksgiving so what more obvious choice is there for me to do today, but think and reflect on what I am thankful for in my life. So, what am I thankful for? On this day of Thanksgiving I am thankful for being an American. I am thankful for the freedoms I have as an American.

I am thankful I've made it to 'Day 100'. I can't believe I've made it this far in my blog. I know many people probably thought I would never make it this far including myself, but I have done it. I almost a third of the way through this journey.

Then there are the people in my life. I am thankful for everyone that is a part of my life. I am thankful for my husband, my family, my friends from the past and the present.

I am thankful for the gift of music that God gave me. I am thankful that I am able to have a job where I can incorporate this love of music. I am thankful that this love of music brought me to my husband, for whom I would never have met if it hadn't been for music. I met him when he began taking piano lessons from me.

Finally as an animal lover, I am thankful for my love and connection I have with animals. I am thankful for all the animals that have been a part of my life, and will be a part of my life in the future including: Danny, Tasha, J.R., Butterscotch, Blacky, Patty, Petey, Chester, Joshua, and Buddy.

These are just a few of the things I am thankful for, and I think I need to remind myself of these wonderful things I have in my life once in awhile.

  1. Peggy. I have still thoroughly enjoyed your postings but just haven't had time to reply back to your postings. They are completely rivoting and cause me to pause in my daily routine to reflect on your thoughts. First, let me say congratulations for getting to 100 days of blogging. I personally do not think that I've made it to 100 of days of doing anything, including basic grooming. Second, your posting on your animals brought back so many happy memories of that movie "All Dogs Go To Heaven." It made me think of all of my favorite pets, including my pet fish, Whitee. He was given to me by my first boyfriend in 6th grade, Pat Novicky. He gave me an albino fish that was HUGE. Whitee lived on this earth until the day of my high school graduation, when he passed from this life. Luckily, I had not discovered his demise until after my graduation. But, I remember him everytime I see anything white: people, iceburgs, chalk, clouds, and surrender flags. Finally, I want to say thank you for inspiring me by your example and commitment to this blog. By your example, today, I refrained from a second helping of stuffing. THANK YOU!

  2. Thanks Sally! My animals have played an important part of my life. As we begin our search for our new cat(s), I have noticed every time I see a cat with white in it I am reminded of my cat Buddy. I am always drawn right to those cats. I have a feeling my next cat might be white. I just can't get away from the memories of Buddy and his white fur.
