Day 126- Use a Night Light to Prevent Any Future Falls

I'm dangerous to be around. I am just so incredibly clumsy, and while I have previously stated that I embrace my clumsiness, there are still things I should do to make myself a little safer.

A common problem I have is the last step in my bedtime routine. This consists of  turning off all the lights and then blindly making my way to bed. I have been known to trip and fall or crash into the wall or door during these moments.

There was also the time I stepped on a roach with my barefoot. Our roaches are huge and they fly. They're actually called Palmetto Bugs, and they really freak me out. The roach incident traumatized me for a very long time.

I also use to step on my old cat's paws and tail all the time. I always felt so bad when I'd suddenly hear this awful wailing meow when I'd step on him. I'd hate to do that to the new kitties, especially since they're so small.

I will strategically place a night light in the hallway on my way to the bedroom. I could see the benefits of adding a night light in a few other place, but I figure I'd begin in the hallway and see how that works.

One thing I don't want to do is place a night light in my bedroom. I've had to work very hard on my sleeping patterns, and I think having that light in the bedroom would definitely cause me more issues with my sleep. I need that darkness; it helps me sleep better. In fact the lights from the street that shine through the windows are too bright. I may have to figure out a solution to this problem for a future task.

  1. what about a light with a sensor? We have one of those, it only comes on when we put our feet on the ground.

  2. A light with a sensor is what I wanted. I'll have to look into that a bit more, because I think that would be better.
