Day 177- Exercise that Brain

Today I thought I'd do a new kind of exercise. I thought I'd work on that brain of mine.

Why exercise the brain? Doing mentally stimulating activities can help improve your brain function. Also most age related loss in memory are simply caused by inactivity and lack of mental stimulation. Sometimes I feel like I'm already losing my mind, so I'd better get moving on this one. After all if you don't use it you're going to lose it.

Here are some activities you can do to help exercise that brain:

  • Take a class
  • Do games and puzzles. Here is a link to a website that has several brain games www.gamesforthebrain.com
  • Read often
  • Remember and repeat groups of words
  • Eat foods containing omega fatty acids
  • Perform math functions regularly
  • Learn new words
  • Use your non-dominant hand
  • Learn to read and play music (I think since I work as a musician that I have this one down)
  • Listen to classical music
  • Never avoid breakfast
There are many other things you can do to exercise your brain. These were just a few I found. If you've been paying attention to my blog you also know that there are a few of these I've already been doing, but I thought I'd do a few other ones, especially the brain games.
