I don't like going to the dentist, so this one was a difficult one for me. I hate to admit it, but it's actually been ten years since I've been to the dentist. I don't plan on going another ten years before my next appointment.
This time I plan on going every six months like I should be doing. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and the dental hygienist and the dentist praised me for taking such good care of my teeth. I do almost everything I'm supposed to do, which I believe I said in a previous post, but just to recap: I brush at least twice a day with my electric toothbrush; I floss every day; I use a tongue scraper, and I rinse with mouth wash. My only drawback is all that sugar I eat, but I'm working on that too.
So did I have any cavities or any other issues after ten years of not going to the dentist? Not really. I do have to go in to get a filling, but not because I have a cavity. I clench my teeth sometimes, and apparently I developed a little crack in one of my teeth. I'll also have to get a mouth guard to wear at night to help with my clenching.
All in all it wasn't such a bad appointment. I was pretty happy with the outcome, and I love how clean my teeth feel.
