I have found to this day, even after all I've done, I still hate to exercise. Perhaps it's because my mind is always wandering, and I get bored so easily. But I stick with it; I never give up.
It's funny because I could sit down and practice the organ or piano for hours without getting bored, but working out is another story. While I was in graduate school I would practice the piano for six hours a day, but I can't handle 30 minutes of exercise. Go figure!
One thing I have found is if I split it up throughout the day it makes it so much easier for me, and I have also varied it a bit by doing different activities. I always make sure I get some running time in there too, but I don't strictly stick with running alone.
I unfortunately have come to the realization that exercise will be something that I will never fully enjoy, but I know it is something I need to continue doing. I wish I could be one of those people that enjoys working out, but that's just not going to happen for me. I don't have much weight to lose, and I think when I get to my goal weight I will back off a bit, and exercise just for maintenance purposes, but for now I will stick with working out for 30 minutes.
