Last week when I was traveling to Wisconsin from Virginia I realized I was having a few issues aside from the storm. My cell phone and my computer where both losing power. I realized I really need to keep those charged. I should have at least brought my charging cables for each, but I didn't.
This was a time when I really needed to keep in touch with my family. My family needed to know that the flights were canceled and they needed to know what time I would be getting into Wisconsin.
I have had many situations where that cell phone has been very helpful and prevented me from going into complete panic mode. It has also been helpful when my husband has been away, because I don't have to rush home to catch his call.
The first cell phone I ever had was when my husband and I were living four hours a part, one of us in Missouri and the other in Iowa, while we were both going to school. We would always visit each other on weekends when we could. My husband really didn't like me driving those long drives, so I got a tracphone that I used just on those drives. Two years later when we moved to Ohio we ended up getting cell phones for both of us and dropping our land line all together. I can't imagine being without a cell phone now. Like I said it has really helped me out in several situations.
I really need to make sure I keep my cell phone, a long with all of my other gadgets charged. I can't let them get so low. I may run into a situation where I need my cell phone, and I don't want to have to worry about whether there is enough power or not.
